Wine and Yoga – What’s Not to Love?

Ever had to decide between going to the gym or going out to happy hour with some friends. It is never an easy decision. You are either doing something for the betterment of your health or having a glass of wine for the betterment of your social life.

But why not combine them both?

This dual activity (Wine Yoga) isn’t just fun; there’s actually some benefit to flowing through downward dogs and then enjoying a good glass of wine.

Studies* have shown that the moderate consumption of wine combined with regular exercise is beneficial to one’s health, specifically for the prevention of high levels of cholesterol and cardiovascular disease.

The wine contains resveratrol, a polyphenol that can break down white fat into brown fat (the kind that actually burns calories). Yoga helps to burn fat, which researchers attributed to the lowered cortisol levels that come with the de-stressing of yoga.

Relaxation, socialization, exercise and wine, what’s not to love?
